Bio

Hi! My name's Meena and I'm from Napa, California and graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Minor in Science Education. While there, I conducted research in the field of viral ecology and studied how viral life strategy impacts coral reef health. Over the course of my PhD I am looking forward to developing a broader understanding of eukaryotic cell signaling, specifically as it pertains to cell migration. When not in lab, I love to read, play water polo, travel, and try out new restaurants!

Research project

Investigating the regulation of Dictyostelium cAMP chemoattractant receptor 1 (cAR1) by phosphorylation of C-tail serine cluster 2 for signaling dynamics, gradient sensing, and chemotaxis.
